JAMESTOWN, NY – The Danbury Jr. Hat Tricks (9-30-3-0, 21 pts) scored early, but couldn’t hold off the Jamestown Rebels (24-19-2-1, 51 pts) in a 6-1 loss Friday night.
Danbury scored first on Friday as Robert Hyde netted his sixth of the season with just 34 seconds left in the first. Jazz Krivtsov added his team-leading 17th assist along with Hunter McCurdy adding his fifth helper of the season.
After heading to the second period in the driver’s seat, Danbury couldn’t keep the momentum. Jamestown scored twice in the second period to take a one-goal lead into the third.
Head coach Billy McCreary has stressed the importance of his team “playing a full-60” minutes. The Hat Tricks entered the final frame down just a single-goal, but a goal 1:26 into the third period continued a stretch of six-unanswered goals by Jamestown.
Danbury and Jamestown finish off the weekend-series on Saturday at 7:05 in Jamestown.
