Rochester, NY | Patrick Frenette
The Hat Tricks have suffered their second consecutive loss following a 6-1 defeat against the Rochester Jr. Americans. David Utkin put the Hat Tricks on the board late in the first, yet Rochester used its special teams to its advantage tonight. The Jr. Americans went 3/6 on the odd-man advantage, scoring on the power play once every period.
Hat Tricks Ease Off The Gas Quickly
In the previous two losses for Danbury, the Hat Tricks played great in the opening twenty minutes. However, they came out seemingly flat in the next two periods of play. Head Coach Lenny Caglianone has preached doubling down on their systems, which they have excelled in, yet bad habits seem to creep in at the worst times.
Danbury Showed Promise On Power-Play
The Hat Tricks have been working hard on the power-play as of late. Although they went 1/5 tonight, they moved the puck very precisely and they were smart about how they passed the puck around.
Lineup Notes
Danbury Jr. Hat Tricks 18U AAA netminder John Reburn saw some action tonight, playing the final 10:10 of the period after Fialkoff was pulled from the contest. Reburn made six saves on six shots faced, showing a small amount of his potential. Sam Esposito was also moved back to the Tournas-Omicioli line, which we have not seen since late September. Esposito has shown signs of growth, yet his speed looked great in his previous line in comparison to tonight.
