JOHNSTOWN, PA – The Danbury Jr. Hat Tricks (12-41-5-1, 30 pts) play their final game of the season on Saturday night on the road against Johnstown (33-20-4-2, 72 pts).
On Friday night, Danbury got off to a hot start, scoring two first-period goals. Pete Lajoy scored his third of the season early in the opening frame. At the end of the period, Owen Simmons scored his second goal of the year.
Lajoy and Peter Lychnikoff both recorded multiple points in the game, before Danbury dropped the contest in overtime.
The Hat Tricks have had their best stretch of the year over the last few weeks of the season. Friday’s point continued that as Danbury has points in five of its last nine games.
In Saturday’s season finale, forward Gabe Dombrowski is scheduled to play in his 100th career game for Danbury. He will be the third Hat Tricks player to reach that feat this season (Hunter McCurdy and Andrew Eberling).
Puck drop on Saturday is scheduled for 7 p.m. and can be seen on HockeyTV.
