Feb 5, 2022

DANBURY, CT – The Danbury Jr. Hat Tricks (9-26-3-0, 21 pts) fell 4-2 to the Johnstown Tomahawks (22-13-2-2, 48 pts) on Saturday afternoon.

Johnstown started the scoring early in the first period with two goals separated by 52 seconds. The Hat Tricks faced a 3-0 deficit at the mid-way point of regulation.

Just after the 10-minute mark of the second, Miles Harrington (6) scored on a wrist-shot from the high-slot. Pete Lajoy (4) and Boris Skalos (11) recorded assists on the play as they helped win a board-battle and find Harrington alone with a shooting-lane.

Johnstown added its fourth, and final, goal late in the second period. Danbury started the third period with multiple scoring chances.

Luka Sukovic buried his seventh of the year from Marian Haborak (10) just 3:37 into the third. The Hat Tricks threatened the rest of the way with a few power-play chances, but couldn’t scratch back to draw even.

Adam Johnson was busy, especially in the first 40 minutes. Johnson faced 35 shots through two periods and made 41 saves on 45 total shots against.

The Jr. Hat Tricks return to the ice on Friday when they travel to Jamestown for a two-game series against the Rebels.
