DANBURY, CT – The Danbury Jr. Hat Tricks (12-41-4-1, 28 pts) fell in a shootout 3-2 to the Maine Nordiques (22-27-5-5, 52 pts) on Wednesday night.
The Hat Tricks started strong with a two-goal first period. After goaltender Adam Johnson made a save on a point-blank Maine chance, the Hat Tricks answered with a goal less than a minute later.
At 11:33 of the first, Richard Davis scored his fourth of the season from Hunter Young (13) and Andrew Eberling (13).
Eberling added his ninth goal of the year just 3:47 later to double the Danbury lead.
Overall, Johnson made 36 saves in the game and 13 in the third period. He made multiple stops late to keep the game tied.
After overtime, Johnson made the first save of the shootout on Jack Parker and Robert Hyde converted in round one for Danbury.
Maine scored in the third round to keep the shootout alive before winning it in the fourth round.
The Hat Tricks are back in action on Friday at 7:30 p.m. on the road against Johnstown.
