ATTLEBORO, MA – The Danbury Hat Tricks (9-23-3-0, 21 pts) scored twice in the third period on Sunday, but their comeback fell short as they dropped the contest 3-2 to the Northeast Generals (21-16-0-1, 43 pts).
At the end of a tightly-contested first period, the Generals scored twice in the final four minutes to take a 2-0 lead.
Northeast added a goal in the second and the Hat Tricks trailed 3-0 as they entered the final frame.
Danbury took over in the third period as Luka Sukovic scored his sixth goal of the year to get the Hat Tricks on the board.
The Hat Tricks made it a one-goal game late when Richard Davis (2) scored with 1:29 remaining in the game to bring the Hat Tricks within one. Sukovic assisted on the goal to complete a two-point game.
In the final 1:29, Danbury couldn’t find a goal and they dropped the game 3-2. Goaltender Josh Seeley made 32 saves in the loss.
Danbury is back in action on Monday at 12:30 to play their seventh-straight game against the Generals.
