The NAHL Danbury Hat Tricks secured their first sweep of the season this weekend with 4-0 and 4-3 wins over the Northeast Generals at Danbury Arena.
In the first game, the Hat Tricks started off strong, with three goals in the first period. Jack Wuertz scored his first NAHL goal on the power play, and Ivan Korodiuk followed with his first of the season on a subsequent penalty kill. Emerson Molas scored a highlight-reel goal to make it 3-0.
Grant Dietz scored a power play goal in the second, his team-leading 12th of the year. Lukas Fursten picked up his first NAHL shutout with 21 saves.
On Saturday, the Hat Tricks again had a strong start, scoring twice in the first period. Dietz scored on the power play and Logan Nickerson at even strength to have Danbury ahead 2-0 through 20.
After the Generals scored two power play goals in the second period, Dietz answered with his second in the final two minutes of the frame.
The Generals got a power play goal early in the third, and the game went to shootout, where Molas and Jacob Roberson scored to win.
The Hat Tricks are back in action on Tuesday with their first trip to Philadelphia, playing the Rebels.
