HAT TRICKS CAN’T OVERCOME THREE GOAL FIRST, FALL 5-1

Oct 20, 2021

The Hat Tricks were back in action on Wednesday and welcomed the New Jersey Titans for a mid-week tilt. The Hat Tricks surrendered three goals in the first and could not overcome the deficit, eventually losing 5-1.

The game saw three fights and over 50 penalty minutes including several five-on-threes. The Hat Tricks scored their lone goal shorthanded with less than five seconds left in the second period. Gabe Dombrowski (6) netted a goal in his third straight on a breakaway as time expired.

“We weren’t looking for that to be a physical game,” commented Hat Tricks head coach Billy McCreary. “When we get in that situation, we need to be able to battle through it.”

New Jersey was paced by Tommy Bannister who tallied a natural hat trick, good for his seventh. eighth, and ninth goals on the season. They were also aided by stellar play on the back end from their netminder Ben Charette who stopped 27/28 shots he faced.

The Hat Tricks are back in action this weekend when they welcome the Johnstown Tomahawks, who sit at 6-5 on the season, into Danbury Ice Arena.
