Blaine, MN- The Danbury Jr. Hat Tricks Faced the Minot Minotauros for the first game in a packed second day at the NAHL Showcase in Blaine, Minnesota. The game turned into the second loss of the showcase for Danbury, 8-1 in the first ever meeting against Minot.
Colby Joseph led the scoring for Minot with four assists and four points. UMass Lowell commit Justin Dauphinias notched two goals and an assist for three points. Defenseman Nick O’Hansian also tallied two goals for Minot. His brother Jack also scored.
Czechia native Oto Theimer (’03) scored the first goal of the showcase for the Hat Tricks early in the third period for his first NAHL goal, and first goal on North American ice.
Connor McDonough (’04) made his season debut and stopped 35 of 43 shots faced.
The Hat Tricks look for their first win of the week on Friday afternoon against the Austin Bruins. This will be the first time these programs have ever faced off. Austin comes into the game 2-0 with a 3-1 win over the Northeast Generals and a 4-1 win against the Springfield Jr. Blues. Puck drops at 2:30 PM CT, 3:30 PM ET at the National Sports Center’s Super Rink.
