Mark D’Agostino has been named the NAHL Bauer Hockey East Division Star of the Week for October 12-18.
D’Agostino, an ’01-born North Branford native, was a two-time goal scorer in the Jr. Hat Tricks’ 3-2 win over the Northeast Generals last week. He has been one of Danbury’s biggest spark plugs offensively, registering three goals in three games on the season.
“I feel good out there,” D’Agostino commented. “I love being back on the ice, especially after a long off-season. I’ve been sticking to my game, hard on pucks, using my speed to create plays and put pucks on net. This past weekend [against Northeast] I had a couple of good bounces and some awesome passes from my teammates.”
D’Agostino’s second goal came on the powerplay, receiving a blind behind-the-back setup from Cody Hoban across the slot. He was quick to credit his teammates for providing ample scoring opportunities.
“What’s worked for me is having that speed and shooting mentality,” he explained. “My teammates set me up with great plays, and I put them home.”
Hoban, for his excellent playmaking ability, was given an Honorable Mention in the Stars of the Week for the East Division for the second consecutive week.
The Danbury Jr. Hat Tricks pay a visit to the Maryland Black Bears this Friday and Saturday at 7:45pm. Live streaming is available on HockeyTV.com.
