DANBURY, CT – The Danbury Hat Tricks (12-41-4, 28 pts) earned a point on Saturday, falling 3-2 to the Jamestown Rebels (34-21-2-1, 71 pts) in overtime.
After a scoreless first period, where the Hat Tricks outshot the Rebels 11-6, Luka Sukovic (11) scored his second goal of the weekend just 32 seconds into the second.
Danbury extended the lead with Logan Nickerson’s fifth of the season on the power play at 8:28. Gabe Dombrowski (24) and Boris Skalos (24) both assisted to remain tied for the team-lead in helpers.
Jamestown responded less than a minute after Nickerson’s goal and added another goal late in the second to tie the game.
Goaltender Adam Johnson stopped 14 pucks in the second period and made 32 saves overall in the overtime loss. Hew was much busier in the final 40 minutes than the first 20. He faced 27 shots in the final two periods, making 25 saves and keeping the game tied in the third.Danbury recorded just five shots in the final frame, but were able to keep Jamestown off the scoreboard and force overtime.
In the overtime, John Lundy scored for Jamestown to win the game for the Rebels.
Danbury will finish its home slate on Wednesday night against Maine, before traveling to face Johnstown in the final series of the season next weekend.
