DANBURY, CT – The Danbury Hat Tricks (12-41-3, 27 pts) came back from a 4-0 deficit on Friday night, but ultimately fell 7-6 to the Jamestown Rebels (33-21-2-1, 69 pts).
Jamestown scored the first four goals of the game on Friday night, but a late first-period goal by Mike Salandra (12) gave Danbury some momentum into the final 40 minutes.
Logan Nickerson took advantage of that momentum at 6:33 of the second, scoring his fourth of the season on a setup from line mates Pete Lajoy and Ryan Johnson.
After Jamestown extended its lead back to three, Luka Sukovic scored his 10th on a penalty shot in the last minute of the second.
The Rebels scored again early in the third to make it a three-goal game, but then the Hat Tricks erupted.
Salandra scored his second of the night and 46 seconds later, Andrew Eberling scored his eighth of the year to cut the Jamestown lead to one.
Minutes later, Gabe Dombrowski (24) scored on a one-time shot from the circle on the power play to tie the game at six.
After the tying-goal, Jamestown converted on a power play to take the lead back and the Rebels held it for the final 7:50 of the game.
Four Hat Tricks had multiple points including Salandra, who recorded three. Boris Skalos had two assists, while Sukovic and Dombrowski added a goal and an assist each.
Danbury is back in action at home on Saturday at 3 p.m. against the Rebels. Tickets are available here and the game can be seen on HockeyTV.
